Senior Director-Executive Protection

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$150,000 - $220,000

The Executive Protection Senior Director, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, reports to the Associate Vice President who is the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the company. The role will collaborate with the CSO and the entire Global Security team. This person will be responsible for building and leading a team tasked with ensuring the safety and security of designated principals. This position operates in a dynamic and multi-faceted environment, requiring a high level of personal integrity, confidentiality, good judgment, and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities:Ensure the overall safety and security of designated PrincipalsRequired to organize schedules and drive Principals to various personal/business venues and/or additional off-site assignmentsDemonstrate proficiency in use and proper maintenance for all equipment used in support of the protective operations program (i.e. vehicles, medical supplies, communications devices, etc.)Must maintain an acceptable professional appearanceMust be able to communicate with the principal’s staff, coworkers, and other third-party vendors using a customer service approachCapable of adapting to various tasks that would be assigned outside of traditional security operations/rolesCapable of on-the-spot critical thinking and improvisationStrong emotional intelligence and self-awarenessMust be comfortable in a variety of social settingsWorking shifts that can include days/nights/weekends/holidaysMultiple coverage experienceProvide close protection to Principals at various venues, events, business meetings, personal trips, etc.Conduct advance work for routes, venues, and travel tripsPossess proficient writing skills to complete detailed reportsCoordinate with Principal’s staff and outside personnel, to facilitate seamless operations for the principals.Capable of responsibly engaging to an active threat against the PrincipalMust be proficient in defensive tactics, in order to deescalate, or actively engage in potential threats against the principalsSupervisory Responsibilities: Routinely manage team and contract vendorsBudget Responsibilities: May be asked to provide insight or collect information for budget activities

Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degreeMinimum ten years law enforcement experienceMinimum three years of relevant Executive Protection experienceMinimum of three years in a supervisory or team leader role, with responsibilities including personnel management and operations management.Training in defensive tactics, counter surveillance/surveillance detection, and covert protection experienceA Valid United States Driver’s LicenseCurrent Passport

Preferred skills and experience:Graduation from a certified driving schoolPossess a good understanding of the latest technology in use of smartphones, communications/tracking apps, and collaboration appsMust be able to work in a collaborative team environment and as a solo practitionerExcellent communicator with the ability to professionally and successfully converse with clients, superiors, peers, and vendors

Additional Information:The candidate may be expected to work outside normal daytime work hours, on weekends, or on holidays.Regular domestic and international travel may be required (estimated 30%).An individual contributor role may be expected on some occasions in executive protection assignments, site security reviews, and other duties.
