Senior Director - National Accounts

The Senior Director, National Accounts is responsible for the leadership, development and oversight of all sales strategic planning for National Accounts throughout the USA, ensuring revenue targets and customer satisfaction goals are met. In conjunction with the Strategic Accounts team, the Senior Director will manage specific contracts and associated relationships while closely working with the U.S. Sales organization to maximize national account growth and adoption of Cepheid products. The person will play a key leadership role in developing the long-term strategy of National Accounts as well as driving and executing our go-to-market strategies and execution with our Government Accounts team. This role will coalesce the alternate site, government, acute and health system strategies to ensure long-term growth and market expansion. This position is part of the US Strategic Accounts Team, and will be remotely based in the U.S. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Expected to meet or exceed plan for growth in assigned National Accounts for existing and new business accounts. + Overall performance of National Accounts Directors, including the responsibilities of coaching, developing and providing ongoing feedback and guidance on professional development to develop a high-performing team. + Be recognized as a thought leader to internal stakeholders and external customers on market dynamics within the Molecular Diagnostics market. + Communicate regularly with Cepheid’s Scientific Advisory Board, External Laboratory Focus Groups, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s) to ensure marketing requirements are correct for National Accounts. + Recruit Key Opinion Leaders and develop Centers of Excellence for Cepheid products at National Accounts. + Create and executes actionable strategies for the sales team based upon sales data analytics and market insights. + Ensure the development and execution of our strategy across health systems, involving both large hospitals as well as alternate site locations of the health system. The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of Business, or equivalent industry-related experience. + Master’s degree in Life Science (Clinical Pathology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry) with 12+ years of Business, or equivalent industry-related experience. + 7+ years diagnostic industry experience with 3+ working with a Strategic Accounts focus. + 4+ years leadership experience mandatory. + 10+ years of successful selling and strategy experience in working with large multi-site accounts including Government, Health Systema and Reference Lab environments. + Experience in setting both short (1-2 years) and long-term (3-7 years) business strategies. + Effective in influencing and persuading others, results driven, self-motivated, demonstrated ability to plan and organize, and possess solid communication and selling skills. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: + 50% travel is anticipated. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. + Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Strong executive-level negotiation skills with multi-year agreements. + Ability to develop contract structure which drives commercial success. + Demonstrated leadership and organization/planning skills. The salary range for this role is $200,000 - $230,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
