Senior Director of Application Delivery and Enterprise Architecture

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and driven professional to join our team as Senior Director of Application Delivery and Enterprise Architecture.  This position provides a critical leadership component on the Information Technology team and is responsible for the development and oversight of the company’s overall applications inventory, ensuring that it aligns with enterprise business strategies. This departmental steward provides team guidance and works to build and maintain centralized, enterprise-wide systems and platforms that support customer experience, efficiency and agility. This position is responsible for oversight and leadership of four critical domains within the corporate Information Technology group: • Administrative Systems, including finance, supply chain, asset management, enterprise human resources, timekeeping and payroll. • Hospitality Systems, including hotel reservations (CRS), activities and dining, guest-facing property operations (PMS/HMS) as well as retail and food and beverage point of sale, across a variety of channels and environments. • Sales and Marketing Technology, including customer data platform, customer engagement, identify resolution, access management, call center operations and MarTech integrations. • Data and Analytics, including integrations, enterprise data warehousing, dashboarding, KPIS and enterprise-wide intelligence and operational reporting. This position will also maintain understanding of, and application oversight for, cruise (reservations and shipboard), tour (reservations) and guest experience platforms. Understanding the company’s diverse business operations is critical as solutions are identified, implemented, supported and maintained.This essential role will be responsible for the coordination, execution, communication, and completion of specific projects across diverse business units and technology domains, supporting enterprise transformation and goals. These projects include implementation of new technologies and upgrades/enhancements to existing systems and applications. Our project management practice guides components of process, technology and organizational improvement, working closely in concert with business and IT stakeholders and our learning and development practice. Responsibilities What will you do? • Serve as the Xanterra architectural leader for the overall design, development and support of all applications used throughout the enterprise, ensuring that they align with company goals and technology standards. • Continually monitor the company’s application environment and improve the effectiveness, efficiency and the customer-focus of platforms in use. • Evaluate and identify business opportunities to enhance the enterprise system architecture and manage and/or influence teams accordingly. • Collaborate in conjunction with fellow IT leaders to ensure the Information Technology Change Management process is followed and that changes managed by this process fulfill the goals and designs of the company’s enterprise architecture strategy. • Actively participate with the application teams to ensure alignment of technology solutions with enterprise roadmaps and evangelize the use of enterprise toolsets and standards. • Work with business development teams to build technology plans and cost estimates for potential new business opportunities. Work with the Chief Information Officer and Regional Directors of Information Technology to develop cutover/integration plans for any new locations which are added to the Xanterra portfolio. • Assist in effective management of third-party technology vendors by identifying partners, and working with the Chief Information Officer on negotiating and monitoring the quality and costs of their services. • Work in conjunction with the Chief Information Officer to formulate implementation plans and schedules that meet the requirements of business units, property level organizations, and the corporate management team. • Monitor and stay abreast of industry trends to provide input on initiatives appropriate for our business models. • Serve as the leader at Xanterra for all custom development created for the enterprise. • Coordinate across the team to design solutions to consolidate data, and support the development and use of a medallion-tiered enterprise data lakehouse crtical for business intelligence and centralized reporting. • Work with other technology teams to identify interfaces and integration requirements to enhance system connectivity and communication (through vendor-provided or custom-developed tools) for diverse Xanterra systems. • Serve in an on-call capacity for after-hours/non-business hours support if assigned by the Chief Information Officer. • Support the Xanterra Incident Response Team in all requested areas. Qualifications • 10+ years of experience in Information Systems and Technology. • 5+ years in an Information Systems and Technology project and team leadership role. • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or business administration with a concentration in Information Technology, Hospitality Administration and/or Accounting. • Background in hospitality-based IT systems. • Certification such as Certified Hospitality Technology Professional, Microsoft Certified Engineer, or Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) is preferred. • Project management skills. • Strong familiarity with applications used by hotels, resorts, restaurant and retail operators, tour operators and cruise ship operators (shore-side and onboard). • Analytical skills, including the ability to plan complex system-related projects. • Understanding of waterfall and agile project methodologies, and an ability to work within established project management frameworks. • Knowledge and prior experience with Payment Card Industry compliance, data privacy and security standards, information governance and other security requirements. • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple directors and teams. • Working knowledge of databases, web technologies, and platforms, including Windows, SQL, Oracle and other tools and utilities including web services and API integrations. • Demonstrated ability to articulate and evolve governance processes around service management, service delivery and incident management. • Solid, pragmatic technical background, with a deep understanding of the intersection between platforms and infrastructure, allowing for effective solutioning for on-premise and cloud-based environments. • Well-tuned written and oral skills, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office365 suite of tools and products. • Ability to communicate a high sense of urgency, excellence and customer focus to other technology teams, including serving as a mentor and/or coach to these teams. COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $165,000.00 - $195,000.00 based on experience plus incentive.
