Position Summary The Senior Director of Development for the College of Arts and Sciences at UNC Greensboro oversees and manages all aspects of the College’s development program. The candidate must be able to think strategically and practically to implement a comprehensive and results-oriented development plan that includes goals and strategies for major, planned, and annual gifts. This position will also build and foster key relationships for the College of Arts and Sciences and the University with alumni, friends, community and business leaders, and faculty. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising Strong organizational skills Ability to relate to diverse constituencies including identifying, recruiting, training and recognizing volunteers Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Willingness and ability to travel Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to utilize technological resources available to the development staff

Percentage Of Time 70% Key Responsibility Gift Cultivation and Solicitation Essential Tasks Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals believed to have potential to make major gifts to the College of Arts & Sciences and other University interests. Create and execute a strategic fundraising plan in consultation with the Dean and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development, ensuring alignment with College priorities. Maintain a portfolio of prospective donors and secure major and campaign gifts, meeting or exceeding performance metrics. Prepare detailed and timely contact reports for all donor interactions and ensure appropriate stewardship in coordination with the stewardship team. Percentage Of Time 10% Key Responsibility Engage and Leverage Key Stakeholders Essential Tasks Collaborate with the Dean to develop program funding priorities and cases for support that align with strategic goals. Utilize and manage volunteers, including the College of Arts & Sciences Advancement Council, to help execute the fundraising plan. Coordinate with faculty and University Advancement to ensure the College’s communication and marketing efforts are aligned with fundraising initiatives. Effectively engage the Dean, faculty, and staff in fundraising efforts, including establishing an internal giving program. Percentage Of Time 10% Key Responsibility Develop and Execute Advancement Priorities Essential Tasks Work with the Dean and Associate Vice Chancellor for Development to set and execute advancement priorities for the College of Arts & Sciences. Develop and implement an annual operating plan with clear, accountable goals in coordination with University Advancement leadership. Participate in University-level fundraising strategy meetings, including prospect management and strategy discussions. Collaborate with other development team members and participate in team meetings, fundraising goal-setting, and the annual retreat. Percentage Of Time 10% Key Responsibility Serve as an Advocate for the College and University Essential Tasks Represent the College of Arts & Sciences in the community by engaging alumni, business partners, local leaders, and key constituents. Serve as a primary liaison between the College and University Advancement, ensuring the College’s fundraising goals align with broader University objectives. Organize and manage volunteer boards and other volunteer efforts to advance the College’s mission and fundraising goals.
