As the Senior Director of Health, Welfare, and Retirement Benefits, you will lead the strategic planning, design, implementation, and administration of comprehensive benefits programs. This role is critical in ensuring that Nordstrom's benefits offerings are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's overall business objectives, while driving improvements to bring innovation and inclusivity. You will work closely with senior leadership, HR teams, and external vendors to deliver high-quality benefits that support the well-being and financial security of Nordstrom employees; enabling our vision of helping our customers “feel good and look their best”.

Develop and execute a strategic vision for health, welfare, and retirement benefits that aligns with Nordstrom's business goals and employee needs.Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and wellness programs.Manage the retirement benefits programs, including 401(k) plans, pension plans, and other retirement savings initiatives.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits.Collaborate with HR, finance, and legal teams to ensure benefits programs are effectively integrated and communicated across the organization.Lead negotiations with benefits vendors and manage relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery and cost-effective solutions.Analyze benefits data and trends to make informed decisions and recommendations for program enhancements.Provide leadership and direction to the benefits team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.Develop and manage the benefits budget, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.You own this if you have…
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in employee benefits with a Fortune 500 company, including at least 5 years in a Leadership role.Ability to translate vision into strategy; track record for designing and managing benefits and wellness programs through policies, processes, and systemsStrong knowledge of benefits regulations, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA and other relevant laws.Proven experience in strategic planning and execution of benefits programs.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.Ability to work in a way that creates a safe and inclusive environment, confident enough to address difficult questions, and effectively challenge leaders where appropriateAbility to analyze complex data and make strategic recommendations.Able to establish and nurture relationships with individuals of varying backgrounds and stylesStrong negotiation and vendor management skills.Certification in benefits management (e.g., CEBS, CBP) is a plus.We’ve got you covered…

Pay Range Details

Washington: $180,000 - $290,000 AnnuallyThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
