ADP is hiring a Sr. Director of Platform Engineering.

 

This exciting opportunity will be a critical member of the Senior Technology leadership team and will be responsible for all DevOps engineering (Application Build / NG DevOps / Infrastructure Engineering and DBA functions) and service/developer experience delivery within the SBS RUN Powered by ADP portfolio.

 

The Senior Director of Platform Engineering is a position that is central to SBS RUN engineering and cloud service curation and delivery strategy. It is a key role that will deliver the digital transformation of Platform Engineering Group inclusive of engineering and developer experience in the SBS RUN organization.

 

This senior engineering leader will be responsible for the design, execution, and adoption of our cloud service creation and developer experience strategies while providing the highest level of engineering satisfaction for ADP’s SBS (Small Business Services) RUN organization. This role is a results-driven position; driving innovation and quality in a diverse Engineering organization, accountable for accelerated deployments, high resiliency of implementations, cloud onboarding and adoption for our strategic businesses.

 

The Senior Director will lead a team of engineers, cloud service developers, DBAs and an architect to deliver a world-class engineering and developer experience. The leader will be responsible for identifying, developing, and retaining talent, building, and driving a culture of inclusion, diversity, and integrity.

Familiarity with compliance & security standards across the enterprise IT landscape. Familiarity with archive, disaster recovery and business continuity in global operations. Experience in driving finance strategy to deliver economic value for a client. Prior experience in integrating change management activities into business plans.

What you’ll do:

Extensive experience in the AWS/Azure ecosystem, including creating development services. Experience in agile delivery methodologies in a cloud/SaaS organization. Delivery of projects within budgeted hours while maintaining high client satisfaction scores. Create and formalize engineering and product technology strategies/roadmaps through partnerships spanning multiple functions.   Provides strategic direction and leads a national organization responsible for the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of cloud technologies, engineering processes and operating metrics for the SBS RUN Platform engineering organization.  A strong advocate for the technology needs of developers, engineers and clients serving as the key liaison with the technology leadership team and enterprise executives across the SBS organization. Provide leadership in all areas including discovery, estimating, delivery, and support in our cloud engineering and developer experience/control plane delivery. Align resources to meet company goals for revenue and margin attainment. Direct teams to adopt our carefully curated cloud services effectively and systematically. Responsible for the development and maintenance of relationships with our key vendor technical managers/executives.  Monitor performance, product and development feedback, and client satisfaction relative to our service delivery with our client base. Monitor and report on utilization and client behavior/adoption within our hybrid cloud ecosystem and use the analysis to drive technology value. Provide management direction and mentoring of all engineering professionals within the organization. Building a positive and proactive partnership with the IT technology and senior leadership teams leading to an effective core annual planning process to include the prioritization of projects linked directly to the company’s overall global business strategy. Foster a Technology culture that is responsive to the needs of the engineering and business organizations while transparently reporting on its alignment with the key technology and business stakeholders.

 

Your Background:

Bachelor's degree or higher in S. Computer / Information Science is strongly preferred with a minimum of BA/BS and 10+ years of relevant experience. 7+ years of hands-on cloud service curation and development experience specifically in the Microsoft Azure and AWS arenas. Azure Solutions Architect experience is a plus. Previous supervisory, management, or leadership experience is required. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of geographically diverse engineering specialists. Quick problem-solving and decision making. Self-motivated with efficient time management. Detail oriented. Ability to gather relevant facts and develop and successfully pursue revenue opportunities. Ability to communicate directly with technical teams.   Proven ability to work cross‐functionally and to be able to demonstrate strong subject‐matter expertise and attention to detail while keeping the trajectory of the business in mind. Excellent communication skills. (written & oral presentation).
