The Senior Director Product Trial Experience Role

 

The Senior Director, Product Trial Experience, is a strategic leader responsible for designing and managing our product trial and evaluation (eval) program required to achieve business objectives.  The trial program will enhance customer engagement, accelerate product adoption, and drive best in class conversion rates. This individual will also oversee a small team focused on trial marketing, performance analysis, and project management, and work with technical, sales, and operational partners to ensure a cohesive, impactful trial experience. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of customer experience, product management, and marketing with a track record of leading high-impact customer engagement initiatives. With a customer-first mindset, this leader will shape trial journeys that deliver real value, reflect our core product offerings, and optimize engagement and conversion from start to finish.

Customer Experience and Trial Performance

Develop and Own the Trial and Eval Experience Strategy: Design and lead the end-to-end strategy for product trials and evals, creating journeys that showcase product value, deepen user engagement, and drive business outcomes.Deliver the requisite number of trials required to achieve Qlik’s business objectives.Enhance Customer Engagement: Leverage insights, analytics, and customer feedback to continuously refine the trial and eval experiences, ensuring they align with evolving customer needs and expectations.Performance Optimization: Oversee trial and eval performance, using data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and drive ongoing optimization, including A/B testing and other performance analyses.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration

Product Management: Collaborate with Business Units to align trial with the product roadmap, user design, focusing on delivering an intuitive experience that drives engagement and conversion.Product Marketing: Work with Product Marketing to create targeted messaging and value-driven content that highlights key product benefits throughout the trial and eval experience.IT & Technical Support: Partner with IT and our foundational product areas to ensure trial and eval infrastructure meets technical requirements, operates reliably, and provides a seamless user experience; includes overseeing integration of new product features into the trial platform.BDRs, Sales, and Partner Teams: Coordinate with sales and partner teams to ensure the lead qualification and handoff process for trials is smooth for prospects / customers and optimized for conversion. Sales Ops and Finance: Ensure the payment process at the end of trial and eval aligns with the company’s selling motions and finance best practices across sales and partner deals. Verify that data is captured correctly to be used and actioned on by these teams. Customer Success: Coordinate with Customer Success to support smooth transitions from trial conversion to full adoption.Marketing Operations: Collaborate with Marketing Operations to automate key touchpoints, build out trigger-based nurture streams, and improve trial lead qualification and effectiveness.

 

Team Leadership and Management

Team Oversight: Manage a small team, including a project manager, performance analyst, and trial marketing manager, focusing on performance optimization, messaging, and operational improvements to support growth.Drive Project Execution: Work closely with team members to execute trial and eval strategy, ensuring all initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with broader organizational goals.

 

Reporting and KPIs

Metrics-Driven Decision Making: Track and report on key performance metrics, providing regular updates to senior leadership and making strategic adjustments based on data insights.Conversion: Monitor and report on conversion metrics from trial and eval initiation to revenue, identifying opportunities for optimization at each stage of the user journey to ensure alignment with revenue goals.Customer Insights: Utilize user data, feedback loops, and analytics to drive continuous improvements in trial experience, including creating feedback mechanisms for ongoing learning.

This leader will optimize trial journeys to showcase product value, increase conversion rates, and align with revenue goals. By leveraging data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration with product, marketing, sales, and customer success teams, they will ensure the trial experience reflects Qlik’s core offerings while addressing evolving customer needs.

 

This role’s work will empower sales and partner teams with better-qualified leads, provide smooth transitions for new customers, and deliver actionable insights that inform broader organizational strategies. This role’s leadership will also foster a culture of innovation and operational excellence, enabling the team to scale globally and sustain long-term customer relationships. Ultimately, this role will create measurable impact across the organization, driving customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and market success.

 

We’re looking for a teammate with:

 

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.10-15 years of experience in product management, customer experience, or digital marketing, preferably with experience in trial or demo programs for SaaS or technology products.Proven experience in cross-functional leadership, with familiarity with product-led growth strategies and experience in performance marketing or customer engagement preferred.Strong analytical skills with experience in A/B testing, data-driven optimization, and performance measurement.Excellent communication, project management, and team leadership skills.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $193,710.00USD MIN – $255,000.00MAX per year. This position is eligible for a bonus of 25% under the Company’s corporate bonus plan. Final compensation offered by Qlik will be based on factors such as the candidate’s location, job-related skills, education, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Qlik offers a comprehensive benefits package.
