The Sr Director Technical Operations oversees all vehicle maintenance, materials, and out of service for the Hertz European markets. This will include the processes and activities of the maintenance staff as well as overseeing all vehicle repairs for all Hertz Business Segments. To do this the Sr Director Technical Operations will work closely with Country staff and Location management to achieve successful utilization of fleet and optimal Out of Service results (OOS). The chosen candidate will have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage direct reporting relationships as well as collaborate and influence operational leaders across a dispersed geographical area.
A Day in the Life:
The Sr Director Technical Operations for the European markets will spend their day reviewing key performance metrics, identifying operation support needs, and meeting with country and international leaders to ensure that we have the right processes and systems in place to meet our maintenance needs. Keeping a focus on the days operations to ensure in the moment success, while constantly looking to the future to ensure that our Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are trending in the right direction. They will directly oversee the individual country markets and meet with their team daily to ensure that all maintenance needs are being met.
What You’ll Do:
Responsible for defining strategies that align with the strategic objectives of the Maintenance plan while communicating and helping the team execute to ensure that strategic objectives are met Developing Maintenance Leaders as well as holding them accountable for required deliverables and KPI performance Ensure timely and quality mechanical and body damage repairs of vehicles during their Lifecycle Minimizing all cost related to vehicle maintenance and service while ensuring the highest quality at the most efficient costs/revenue to the company Oversee all functions related to Asset Management (Inventory Control, Materials, Systems, etc.) within the region Collaborate with Operations to drive peak utilization in all areas Key stake holder in geographical OOS and responsible for managing across all geographical areas Collaborates with Country General Managers, Fleet Operations Leadership, and International leaders to ensure consistent management of systems and processes.
What We’re Looking For:
8 years’ experience in managing maintenance functions in automotive, aviation, or similar area Bachelor’s in business preferred Moderate proficiency with Microsoft suit Understanding of Maintenance manuals such as the Mitchell Catalog preferred Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations Ability to influence Flexible and adaptable; ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Results driven, ability to make decisions and help solve problems Ability to build and lead a diverse, high-performing, results-oriented, and highly-engaged team.
