The Senior Director of US International Tax at Lilly plays a crucial leadership role within the global tax team. The position is responsible for all US international tax matters including strategy, planning, forecasting, tax compliance, accounting, and IRS audit defense. Responsibilities also include partnering with other tax and non-tax business partners on global international tax matters.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Direct and lead all US International processes, including technical review and oversight of:E&P, FTC, Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, and BEAT computations for forecasting, accounting, and tax complianceUS international tax provision for estimated tax payments and quarterly accounting purposesUS tax return forms, including the foreign tax credit (Form 1118), foreign affiliate information returns (Form 5471), foreign disregarded entity returns (Form 8858), and other international compliance returnsInternational tax related SOX processesIdentify and/or lead international planning projectsCollaborate with Global Treasury to manage global cash movements Integrate business development transactions into international tax accounting and compliance processesDefend international tax positions taken on US income tax returns Prepare and review responses to tax audit requestsInfluence and monitor tax policy and legislation related to taxation of Lilly's international operations and implement any compliance changes required by new law or regulationsMentor and develop staff and encourage teamwork environmentBasic Requirements:
Bachelor's degreeMinimum of 10 years tax experience to include at least 6 years of U.S. international tax experienceCPA certification or equivalent or CPA eligibleQualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Knowledge of tax accounting under ASC740 and FIN48Extensive knowledge of U.S. international tax laws Strong skills in tax planning and research Solid understanding of tax accounting, including ASC 740 and deferred taxes Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment Strong organizational and self-management skills Juris Doctorate or Master's in Tax Knowledge of global transfer pricing and other tax laws Strong leadership abilitiesSupervision experienceOther Considerations:
