Senior Discovery Database Administrator
**Job Description** BAE Systems Intelligence division is searching for a Senior Discovery Database Administrator to join us supporting the FBI Office of General Counsel (OGC), and Litigation Branch (LITB) in Washington, DC. The DBA will function as part of a team effort to create an enhanced user experience for the Discovery IT Support Unit (DITSU) and its customers. The DBA will be engaged in all aspects of supporting the development, test, and production environments. The DBA will function as a member of the Enterprise Vault team supporting OGC s eDiscovery mission. The Contractor shall provide database administration support to include, but not limited to the following activities: assist in managing Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and 2022 to include setting up security, creating tables, indexes, stored procedures, designing SQL reports, and creating maintenance jobs etc. Must apply best practices for optimizing databases; assist in creating and maintaining databases in a Clustered Server environment. Must apply expert knowledge of the design, development and maintenance of various data models and their components; apply working knowledge of data lakes, data warehouse and data mart architectures, metadata and data modeling, data flow, entity relationship diagram, schema architectures and query languages to integrate a seamless solution within legacy infrastructure; mirror database servers, log shipping, latest techniques for Database redundancy and high Availability, and full backup and recovery capabilities of the Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and 2022 platform; facilitate the migration of system into cloud infrastructure; upgrade SQL Servers from lower versions to the latest version (version 2019 and up), and create reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS); setup a reporting server and be responsible for all DBA functions and report development utilizing Software Systems development Architecture and Design. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** In order to be successful in this position must possess the following: + 7 or more years of Systems Engineer/Administrator experience + 5 or more years of previous experience in architecture and design of complex high-available systems + Shall have strong IT architecture analysis capability + 3 or more years experience needed for Microsoft SQL Server, Data Lakes, Clusters. + Personnel assigned to this task must have the ability to adjust to changing priorities and work well under pressure. + System administration knowledge of IT networks, enterprise mail servers, Microsoft Windows and/or Linux, virtualized environments + Knowledge of virtualization concepts. + Experience using Microsoft Office software suite. + Understanding of file systems and hard disk drive structures. + Demonstrated ability to work independently and excellent troubleshooting skills. + Demonstrated ability utilizing good communication skills. + Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve goals and complete assignments as planned. + Experience planning and implementing assigned tasks. + Demonstrated experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and 2022 to include setting up security, creating tables, indexes, stored procedures, designing SQL reports, and creating maintenance jobs etc. Must know best practices for optimizing databases. + Demonstrated experience with creating and maintaining databases in a Clustered Server environment. Must be familiar with creating reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). + Demonstrated experience in setting up a Reporting server. Responsibility for all DBA functions and report development and familiarity with Software Systems development Architecture and Design **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Preferred, programming experience using a scripting language. + Strong written and verbal communication skills **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
