Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.

Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

As a Sr. distribution supervisor you will be responsible for providing supervision in the construction, operation and maintenance of underground electric distribution facilities. Achieve the desired results of the Electric Distribution Department through the use of PSEG values and tools, sound management practices and skills and a total commitment to teamwork. You will manage all aspects of Distribution operations on a day-to-day basis and direct team in accomplishing desired results. As well as ensure quality and quantity of work performed is in compliance with Company standards and procedures, safe work practices and government regulations. You will be responsible to Maximize system reliability by ensuring timely and effective planning and scheduling. You will be responsible to Develop MAST and bargaining unit personnel to effectively meet goals and performance objectives. Assist in the development of objectives and the budgets to support these objectives and maintain operating expenditures within allowable variances. 

Job Responsibilities

•    Lead underground MAST and union personnel in the construction/operations/maintenance of underground electric distribution facilities.
•    Assist with troubleshooting, identifying and analyze abnormal system operations.
•    Conduct fact-finding and grievance meetings as required.
•    Coach, counsel and recognize associates in accordance with Positive Discipline.
•    Daily use of work management systems.
•    Support emergency response during and outside of normal working hours to system and weather events within and outside of the division as needed.
•    Must establish and maintain excellent working relationships with both internal (within the Division) and external departments
•    Expected to participate in on-call rotation with the other department supervisors
•    Expected to be available off-hours, even when not on-call
•    Conduct performance appraisal reviews with MAST and bargaining unit associates
•    Assist in the training/development of underground personnel.
•    Ensure Electric Department on call coverage and accept call out obligations
 

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Skills-
•    A minimum of three (3) years of previous experience as a first level supervisor
•    A minimum of six (6) years of experience in the construction, maintenance and operations of underground outside plant facilities.
•    High school graduate or equivalent.
•    Ability to obtain Class A Commercial Drivers Licenses 
•    Safety Sensitive Position - D.O.T. Testing Required.
•    Ability to read and understand one-line circuit prints and underground detail prints
•    Ability to assist with troubleshooting, identifying and analyzing abnormal equipment and system operations
•    Ability to read and understand underground prints and manhole details 
•    General knowledge of basic computer applications, i.e., Microsoft excel
•     Knowledge of Company/Union Agreement.
