Role Overview Blasting Expert: Utilize your expertise in blasting to develop and implement efficient and safe blasting plans for open pit mines. Reliability Rockstar: Lead the charge in reliability engineering, ensuring the smooth operation of all mining equipment and identifying areas for improvement. Drilling Dynamo: Oversee drilling operations and monitor performance to ensure optimal productivity. EC&I Enthusiast: Utilize your knowledge of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems to support drilling and blasting operations. Mining Marvel: Apply your extensive knowledge of mining processes to enhance operations and minimize downtime. Optional Mining Mastermind: If you have experience in mining engineering, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills in this area as well. Asset Condition Guru: Take charge of monitoring and maintaining the condition of all mining assets, including crushers, gearboxes, mills, and other fixed plant equipment. Collaborative Communicator: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and identify opportunities for improvement. Safety Champion: Prioritize safety in all aspects of the job and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. Innovative Problem-Solver: Utilize your critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues. Data Detective: Analyze data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions to improve efficiency and productivity. Skills & Qualifications Blasting Brilliance: Extensive experience in blasting operations, including developing plans and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Reliability Expertise: In-depth knowledge of reliability engineering principles and experience in applying them to mining operations. Drilling Dexterity: Demonstrated proficiency in drilling techniques and equipment. EC&I Excellence: Strong understanding of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems and their role in mining operations. Rock Excavation Know-How: Experience in rock excavation techniques, including blasting, drilling, and excavation. Mining Mastery: Proven experience in the mining industry or related field. Asset Condition Management Proficiency: Knowledge of asset condition management principles and experience in applying them to fixed plant equipment. Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly and concisely. Safety-Focused Mindset: Commitment to prioritizing safety in all aspects of the job. Critical Thinking Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions. Data Analysis Abilities: Proficiency in data analysis and utilizing data to make informed decisions. Education & Experience Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering or related field preferred. Certifications in Reliability Engineering or Asset Condition Management advantageous. Minimum of 7 years' experience in an engineering role, including at least 5 years specifically as a Drill & Blast Engineer in an open pit mine.
