ICF is hiring a seasoned and technically accomplished Senior Ecologist to join our Natural Resources Team. You will be able to apply a wide range of experience and demonstrated capabilities for complex transportation projects across multiple ecological disciplines and regulatory platforms. You will collaborate with an accomplished team of conservation planners, terrestrial and aquatic ecologists, restoration ecologists, and regulatory specialists. You will oversee and support the preparation of technical documents including protected species survey reports, biological assessments, jurisdictional waters reports and permits, and NEPA documents. You will support the growth and development of our team as a technical leader and mentor to junior staff. You will work with transportation agency project managers, technical experts, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to successfully deliver projects on-time with high quality standards.

What you will be doing:

Leading transportation focused biological and/or regulatory project teams and staff, including other consultants, on project tasks, including field surveys, agency coordination, and report and deliverable preparationManaging all aspects of a project including DOT contacts, agency coordination, budget control, invoicing, schedule, personnel allocation/planning, technical approach, and contractor involvementLeading regulatory and natural resource agency coordination and consultation efforts as required under the Endangered Species Act (ESA)Writing technical reports and public environmental documentsPerforming QA/QC review of project documents, reports, presentations, technical memorandums, and other work products with a focus on technical adequacy, regulatory compliance, and other specific requirementsProviding mentoring and training to staff as requested in all aspects of the position, including but not limited to technical expertise, project management skills, writing, professional development, other consulting-specific skills·Be a positive, fun, curious, organized, innovative, committed, self-motivated and supportive addition to our local office environment

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

BS in Biology, Ecology, Conservation Biology, Environmental Science or related discipline5+ years professional experience with species surveys, vegetation mapping, site analysis, habitat assessments or related experienceMust have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check

What we would like you to have (preferred qualifications):

MS/PhD in biology, ecology, conservation biology, environmental science or related disciplineDemonstrated experience with specialty natural resource requirements applicable to state and local transportation servicesHigh level of experience with jurisdictional waters determinations and permitting

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$71,958.00 - $122,328.00
