Our Environmental Licensing Team is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join the team. This exciting role offers the opportunity to make a real impact through ecological analysis, environmental reporting, and fieldwork. You'll contribute to protecting natural habitats, support regulatory processes, and collaborate with clients and agencies to drive sustainable solutions. This position can be located in any of the following locations:

Ecological & Quantitative Analyses: Identify threatened and endangered species. Review existing monitoring studies and ecological surveys. Assess local aquatic and terrestrial species and habitats. Analyze potential impact pathways to sensitive species and habitats (invasives, site management, impingement/entrainment). Define mitigation measures to avoid or limit potential impactsTechnical Content Development: Develop technical content (text, figures, tables) for ecological reports and sectionsRegulatory Support: Support license renewal applications for the Nuclear Regulatory CommissionFieldwork & Collaboration: Conduct site visits and engage with clients and applicable regulatory agencies Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a closely related fieldA minimum of 7 years of experience in range land ecology, aquatic ecology, terrestrial ecology, wetland science, threatened and endangered species habitat assessments and / or environmental report / environmental impact statement development. Experience researching and obtaining relevant public data and references, reviewing, and summarizing technical reports, and researching and applying applicable regulatory guidance to the development of technical reports, a strong understanding of ecological concepts as it relates to local, state, and federal guidelines, regulations and policies, and performing field studiesExperience developing technical reports, environmental reports and supporting regulatory reviewsExperience working with federal and state regulatory agenciesAbility to work within a team and independentlyGood technical writing, including attention to detail and the ability to develop consolidated reference packagesGood verbal communication skillsExperience in public speaking and interacting with regulatory agencies is preferredProficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to travel; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a week (5% field work, 95% office work)

The salary range for this full-time position is below. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
