Senior Editor, Rapid Response Team
Sinclair Broadcast Group has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Editor! We are searching for a passionate journalist with a keen eye for breaking news around the country. This position requires a quick worker who cares deeply about being “first” to report distinctive stories while also maintaining the highest standard of accuracy. **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Rapidly write digital news stories about breaking topics + Identify newsworthy topics for Sinclair’s nationwide digital news audience + Collaborate with broadcast producers to translate digital stories into broadcast stories + Evaluate coworkers’ digital stories before publishing + Front short video adaptations of digital stories to be published on Sinclair platforms **REQUIREMENTS** + 1-3+ years experience in digital news writing + Ability to utilize an online content management system + Fluent in AP Style + Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred + Familiarity with Adobe Suite is a plus Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace. The base salary compensation range for this role is $64,000 to $80,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
