What will it be like to work on the Model e team?
We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Senior EE Rework Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of soldering techniques, including through-hole, and surface mount technology (SMT), and be capable of performing rework tasks on a variety of electronic assemblies. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent dexterity, and the ability to follow detailed instructions and work within strict quality control guidelines.
Qualifications:
Essential: Proven experience 7-10 years as a soldering rework technician or in a similar role. Strong understanding of soldering techniques for both through-hole and surface mount components. Proficiency in using various soldering tools and equipment (e.g., soldering irons, hot air stations, microscopes). Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets. Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures. High school diploma or equivalent. (Associate's degree or relevant certification preferred) Desirable: IPC-A-610 certification or equivalent. Experience with various rework techniques (e.g., laser rework, ultrasonic cleaning). Experience with specific types of electronic assemblies (e.g., PCBs, microcontrollers). Knowledge of IPC-7711/7721 standards. Experience with automated optical inspection (AOI) equipment. Familiarity with various types of soldering alloys and fluxes.

What you’ll be able to do:
Perform rework and repair of electronic assemblies, including but not limited to: Removing and replacing surface mount components (SMD) using various techniques (hot air, iron, laser). Removing and replacing through-hole components. Repairing damaged traces and vias. Performing solder bridging and wicking. Inspecting repaired assemblies for quality and functionality. Troubleshoot and diagnose faulty components and assemblies using appropriate test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.). This may involve working with schematics and datasheets. Document all rework activities accurately and completely. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize rework processes. Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex issues.
Technical Expertise:
Possess a deep understanding of electronics, including circuit analysis, power electronics, and digital systems. Proficient in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
