The successful candidate, as part of the EH&S Center of Expertise (COE), will help identify, develop, and deliver industry leading work products; provide specialized EH&S expertise, advice and information to sites, leaders, and employees to achieve business EHS&S goals; and strengthen Corteva’s commitment to our Live Safely core value.
**What You’ll Do:**
_Strategy and Planning:_
+ Align EH&S COE Personal Safety competency objectives with Business Units and Functions as well as team strategies, priorities, and resources.
+ Ensure alignment of EHS programs with government, corporate and community expectations
+ Ensure project plans and project status are well communicated and supported.
+ Assist EH&S COE Personal Safety Competency Team to align priorities, set objectives, track progress, evaluate performance and provide feedback to the organization
_Work Processes / Improvement:_
+ Partner collaboratively with businesses, functions, and sites, as assigned, to deliver effective solutions to continuously improve EHS work processes.
+ Establish and analyze EH&S key metrics, leading indicators, performance data and task specific metrics to identify trends, and drive improvement projects
+ Manage serious injury and fatality (SIF) prevention programs at a corporate level.
+ Develop and maintain Corporate Personal Safety Competency standards, guidance, implementation tools and training materials.
+ Reviewing Corporate EHS Documentation to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and codes.
+ Develop and deliver communications effectively through facilitation of internal EHS webinars and engagement with EHS partners in the businesses/functions
+ Continuously validate that COE Personal Safety Competency work products meet current Corporate EH&S Standards and Governmental Regulatory standards/guidance.
+ Ensure COE Personal Safety Competency work products are in alignment and properly documented according to the Corteva Agriscience Management System (CAMS) and other documentation tools.
+ Support and participate in the EH&S Auditing and Compliance programs as required.
+ Develop and maintain the necessary protocols for audits and self-assessments to measure the effectiveness of our EHS systems
+ Validate project expenses are managed to meet COE spending prioritization plan.
+ Lead, facilitate, and/or participate in incident root cause investigations as assigned.
+ Determine need, develop and deliver training as assigned
+ Periodically seek out business feedback on implementation effectiveness / efficiency related to internal and external compliance requirements.
+ Provide expert consultation, advice and information to leaders and employees to achieve EH&S success and performance excellence.
_Networking:_
+ Lead Global EH&S and cross-functional networks to enhance knowledge transfer and performance improvement.
+ Periodically seek out business feedback on implementation effectiveness / efficiency related to internal and external compliance requirements.
+ Provide market leading support for EH&S advocacy initiatives including participation/benchmarking with relevant industry and professional associations and external networks.
+ Accountable for alignment to networks / publications / expertise to facilitate staying abreast of changing regulatory requirements
**Education:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in an applicable scientific/technical discipline is required
+ Relevant professional EHS certification preferred, e.g. CSP, OHST, CRSP, ASP
**What Skills You Need:**
+ Recognized expert in the Personal Safety field – ten or more years of relevant industry EHS experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment
+ Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills (additional languages an asset)
+ Flexibility to travel 10-30% of time
**Knowledge, skills and abilities:**
+ Demonstrated personal commitment to safety excellence
+ Project management experience.
+ Experience auditing sites for compliance with EHS regulations, and corporate EHS standards and policies.
+ Tracking opportunities for improvement to completion.
+ Providing coaching, mentoring and development of others.
+ Self-motivated, independent thinker
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities
+ Plan and prioritize work to meet commitments
+ Well-organized with a demonstrated ability to work without supervision

+ Demonstrated open and clear communication capability
+ Able to successfully problem solve and resolve issues
+ Excellent training and presentation skills
+ Significant experience interpreting EH&S regulations
