Senior Electrical Design Engineer Job Number: 355433 Category: Electrical / Electronics Description: Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer Location: Marlborough, MA Zip Code: 01752 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Contract Pay Rate: $80 / hr Keywords: #ElectricalEngineer #DesignEngineer #EngineeringJobs JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Work across multinational cross functional project teams, focusing on control systems hardware and documentation * Develop innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, serviceability, cost and manufacturability * Analyze and validate material/component selection, performance, cost, manufacturability * Work with cross-functional teams to complete subsystem and system verification * Participate on small to medium sized teams to develop custom equipment solutions * Conceptualize, engineer, and complete detailed design of controls, safety, and power circuits for process automation * Create specifications from variety of sources including from scratch as required * Apply broad knowledge of technical principles, procedures and practices to define product concept, design schematics, layouts, bills of material (hardware selection) and wiring diagrams * Leverage existing designs and work to build designs that can be re-used for future applications * Maintain engineering data, documentation and/or drawings * Ensure designs and data/analyses/drawings are accurate, integrated, clearly communicated and complete * Review and correct drawings to ensure proper engineering techniques have been followed * Analyze new equipment to ensure it meets design documents REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience with Verification * Demonstrated experience in Automation hardware design * Knowledge of UL and IEC standards (e.g., UL508A, EN 60204-1) and how they apply to designs * Knowledge of NFPA 70 * Experience reading and interpreting industrial control system schematics * Background of industrial control panel assembly and wiring * Self-starter, energizing, results oriented and able to multi-task * Excellent teamwork, coordination, and communication skills * Effective oral and written communication skills * Ability to interpret varying styles of instructions presented in written, oral, or diagram form * Experience with hand tools and electrical testing instruments Benefits: * Medical / Health Benefits with multiple plan options, Flexible Spending Accounts, Dental and Vision / glasses / prescription contact lens and eye test options available. * On the job training / cross-training to develop and expand skills, creating opportunity for advancement and personal development.
