Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support its Power & Controls organization. We’re looking for an experienced professional, like you, to accept a high level of responsibility within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What YOU will do:

Circuit Board Level Requirements, analysis and decompositionLead and/or support design, development, and analysis of electrical circuitry: analog, digital and/or power circuits including DSPs, FPGAs, sensor interfaces, motor controllers, linear and switching power suppliesLead and/or support failure investigations using Relentless Root Cause Analysis methodologiesSupport manufacturing and production of electrical and electromechanical products for failure analyses, parts obsolescence, and preventive maintenanceTesting and/or troubleshooting of hardware using standard electrical board testing and environmental testingDocumentation of hardware design plans, technical requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, qualification test plans and reportsProject planning efforts for support and execution to schedule and budget including obsolescence planning

Qualifications you must have:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experienceDemonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

BS in Electrical EngineeringExperience with Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions to improve yield. (e.g. fault tree, 5 Why, fishbone)Experience working in the aerospace industryExperience reading and understanding assembly drawings, circuit card schematics, and assembly instructions.Experience with development tools including Cadence, Siemens, PSPice, and MATLABExperience with electrical hardware development and certification lifecycle including: electrical architecture design, requirements analysis & development, electrical design of power management analog and digital circuits, development & integration, and qualification testingExperience with Power Design - Filter, Harmonic Control, EMI Suppression, Circuit Simulation, Overload, Short Circuit, Stress Analysis
