Senior Electrical Designer
Clark Construction is currently seeking a highly talented Senior Electrical Design Engineers with expertise in Electrical and Low Voltage system design. In this role, you will be an integral member of our National Systems Group supporting large complex projects across the country. The project types range from design build, design assist, or any project where Clark has early involvement with the developer or end user. You will provide critical guidance on one or more of our projects--leveraging internal resources, creativity, professional relationships, and proven processes to manage complex workflows.

Responsibilities: 

Successfully delivering a design that is on budget, on schedule, and compliant with program standards

Actively leading an integrated design-build or design-assist team, including regular interfaces with clients, designers, trade partners and other key stakeholders

Leading stakeholder decision meetings, design progress meetings, and design conferences

Shaping design deliverables and workflow during the design process, including critical decisions regarding design packaging to support subcontracting and permitting. 

Organizing and leading the design review process to ensure collection and resolution of all comments.

Managing design issue resolution in real-time

Leading collaboration internally with technical teams, project managers, cost estimators, and purchasing.

Participating in development of RFP and RFQ responses including providing strategic insights to pursuit strategy

Essential Responsibilities

Review Owner program requirements to develop concept-level design strategies that guide EOR design partners and deliver cost-effective and execution friendly concept-level solutions. 

Demand studies based on program and code requirements

Basis of Design narratives that are complaint with Owner driven standards and guidelines 

Single-line diagrams and equipment room layouts in Revit for design concepts, equipment sizing, estimating, etc.

Quantity analysis of major systems

Leverage their knowledge base and experience to collect and analyze cost data, identify options, provide recommendations and solutions to budget and design issues as they arise.

Collaborate with EOR partners (whether as consultant to architect or part of design-build subcontract) to continuously shape design during Schematic Design and Design Development and support alternative concept evaluation, including value analysis concepts, to maintain cost and constructability.

Conduct informal peer reviews of EOR design during the development of Construction Documents to verify compliance with program, design intent and pace of advancement.

Provide as needed support to project teams and subcontractors during planning and submittal development to ensure design concepts are understand and actualized.

Provide occasional support to project teams to help problem solve high-level field issues related to design concepts. 

Collaborate with trade managers/estimators and our Trade Partners to develop a complete project cost.


 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a related field (e.g. Electrical Engineering)

8+ years relevant work experience managing development and/or design to achieve pro-forma goals--cost, schedule, and program.

Experience managing staff and outside stakeholders

Working knowledge of Revit, AUTOCAD, SKM and other BIM-related design tools 

Design-Build delivery experience is preferred

Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred
