Senior Electrical Designer

Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for a looking for a Senior Electrical Designer to join our team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing electrical engineering packages for construction projects in the utilities, renewables, large commercial and industrial sectors

What will you do as the Senior Electrical Designer

Developing and preparing drawing packages used for permitting and construction including but not limited to RFPs, ESA packages, Issued for Construction (IFC) and As-BuiltsVerify design drawings to conform to specification, standards, code, and design dataProvide oversight on CAD deliverable to maintain and improve high quality standards set by Spark PowerGenerate Single Line Diagram on AutoCAD using site data gathered by othersWork as part of the engineering team in the execution of large commercial, industrial, utility-scale ground-mount solar, and battery storage design-build projectsCreate engineering simulationsProvide guidance and mentorship to new CAD users in the engineering groupAdhere to drafting standards as required by clientsCreate engineering simulations for pole line design using SpidaCALC software to create pole line design packagesCreate Design models on EasyPower or ETAP as requiredIdentify conflicts, problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.Assist in work order management, scheduling and invoicing.

Do you have the Spark? Here’s what we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architectural science or three-year college diploma in design-oriented program5 years of direct Electrical design experienceStrong AutoCAD Skills Working experience designing and drafting different phases of Engineering Projects; from early stages up to Detailed EngineeringWorking experience developing Construction Work PackagesWorking experience with Drawing Mark-upsExperience in engineering simulations or pole line design will be considered an asset
