The Senior Designer oversees and assists with the work of junior design staff personnel in order to complete assigned work on time, within budget, and in accordance with applicable codes and client standards/guidelines. The Senior-level Designer excels in solving design problems and ensures that fellow Designers and Drafters have clear instructions while staying within acceptable design practices.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

Generates detailed models of electrical systems. Participate in internal 3D model reviews, and client model reviews, as required. Perform vendor data review of equipment and components. Be well versed with PDC’s standards and procedures Serves the lead role on one or more projects, providing guidance for junior level drafters and designers Moderate interaction with engineering staff Assist Design Manager/Coordinator in identifying scope changes and staffing recommendations Performs preliminary drawing checks before packages reach the Design Manager. Participates in inter-discipline and cross-discipline checks. Reviews and checks completed designs Coordinates cross-discipline communications at Design Manager’s request Determines staffing needs in conjunction with the Design Coordinator or Design Manager

Basic Qualifications:

10-15 years related design experience. Mastered 3D modeling Mastered cutting & annotating plan & section drawings At a minimum, basic knowledge of materials Proficient in field verification and measurements Working knowledge of codes and standards Working knowledge of reference documents and guides Complete mastery of Design Drafter & Senior Designer essential functions. Very Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant, ISOGEN, CADWorx P&ID and Microsoft Office products.
