Sargent & Lundy’s Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering and consulting to the management and operating contractors for the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). WORK LOCATION: This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent on site and working remote from home.
This is a mid-level design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Electrical Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.
Lead Electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design teamResponsible for production of engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings and engineering reportsApply electrical engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and componentsProduce Procurement Specifications and Construction Specifications (Electrical sections)Attend project meetings and perform field walkdownsMentor junior engineers QualificationsMust be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
BSEE or MSEE degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program (PE strongly desired)5 or more years of progressive responsible experience in electrical engineering in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial, or Navy)Experience with producing engineering designs for low to medium voltage electrical distribution systems and instrumentation wiring; Experience with more than one type of system a plusField Engineering and Construction Experience is a plusExperience with NEC, UL508, codes and IES Lighting HandbookProficiency in load flow and/or arc flash analysis software such as ETAP and/or SKM Power ToolsProficiency in lighting analysis software such as Virtual and AGI32Must be able to obtain US Government security clearanceSargent & Lundy is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
