Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Electrical Engineer/Senior Project Manager to expand our Solar / Renewables Electrical practice in Orlando, Florida!

Responsibilities Lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for solar, renewable generation, battery energy storage, and various other projectsResponsible for the development of reports and design documents, including solar photovoltaic electrical site plans, equipment selection, photovoltaic module string sizing calculations, ampacity calculations and wire sizingConduct or oversee power system studies such as short circuit, thermal ampacity, and load flowDaily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn officesPrepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals, supporting the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the countryLeadership responsibilities include:Operating with integrity and sound business principalsProviding vision, business planning and strategyEstablishing goalsBuilding and maintaining positive client relationshipsHaving open communication with your partners and teamGrowing and leading a Solar / Renewables Electrical practiceOur Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentorThe successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their businessWith success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership Qualifications 15 years+ of relevant experience managing Electrical projectsRegistered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferredBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringFirm understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI StandardsAbility to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organizationAbility to manage and mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive mannerDemonstrated ability to manage projects profitablyProficiency in training others in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)  Why Kimley-Horn?
