Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview

Responsible for the development, improvement, and sustainment of harsh environment data loggers, power systems, and sensor arrays.  Specifically reducing system noise at the hardware level and improving CPU reliability.

 

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Develops electrical systems for new and existing product designs under the direction of the System Engineer.Assists in verifying and/or applying customer/input requirements to engineering/design activity/output.Assists in the creation of product documents (e.g., build and/or operating/maintenance manuals).Produces technical deliverables such as reports and presentations, CAD models, engineering drawings, test reports, analysis reports, and documentation for manufacturing, Technical Leads, Product Engineers, and other necessary parties.Independently carries out component and subassembly design task and produces test plans for the designs.Works with Manufacturers and Technicians to identify production and assembly problems and provide corrective actions.Communicates schedule, progress, and status as requested.Assists with prototype assemblies and/or Performs design verification tests, and validation tests as needed.Gains a working knowledge of all electromechanical requirements within the assigned technologies.Initiates and/or Facilitates engineering change processes.Collaborates with system and mechanical engineers to perpetuate the electronics development process.Designs, tests, and documents newly developed electric circuits, PCBs, and micro-processor-based circuits.Creates assemblies for integration into a system design, including schematic capture and PCB layout.Maintains and updates system documentation.Develops electronic tests for existing technology systems and documents outcomes.Act as liaison for legacy product customer service and TDW service operations needs including troubleshooting and facilitating repair of electrical equipment and control systems.Supports Manufacturing’s efforts to complete various Electrical Engineering tasks in order to maintain delivery schedules.

 

Experience

Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field.5+ years of relevant experience.Experience with low-noise analog measurement systems and embedded data logging.Experience with high voltage power amplifier design.Experience with pulser-receiver hardware designs for ultrasonic testing (UT) or electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) systems a plus.Experience with in-line inspection and pipeline integrity a plus.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Familiar with creating, simulating, and verifying digital and analog electronics.Familiar with the use of EDA design tools (preferably Altium).Proficient in the use of MS Office Applications.Good oral communication, organization, and documentation skills.Self-starter with excellent time management skills.
