Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) operates within HDR’s Federal Business Group, capable of delivering services across all HDR business groups at any location. Our work is performed by our professional staff, scientists and engineers at remote sites, embedded in client office space or our own facilities. EOC delivers quality engineering, environmental, and construction management services at competitive prices.
We are hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to work at our client site at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead a multidiscipline team and perform layout and detailing on electrical projectsIndependently coordinate work of a multidiscipline team through multiple phases of a projectEstablish owner/client and internal meetings, and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceAssume the electrical lead on many projectsParticipate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceConduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect and other disciplinesCoordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on scheduleTrack the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust the work effort with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-upon scheduleWork with the Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management as neededDirect the activities of other electrical engineering professionals, and act as a mentor to other staff members as neededEnsures daily job site construction inspections and inspection reports of several concurrent construction projects are conducted to monitor contractor compliance with engineering plans, specifications, contractual obligations, and governing laws and regulations.Perform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasisPrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desiredRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasisA minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems);Professional Engineer (PE) license Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
