Senior Electrical Engineer, Data Centres, Oslo

 

We are currently partnering with a Tier-2 Design and Build contractor specializing in Data Centres across Europe. Due to continuous growth, they are looking to expand their team further with an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer in Oslo, Norway.

 

Responsibilities

 

Design and Oversight of Electrical Power Distribution Systems: The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing and overseeing the electrical power distribution system for the data center, ensuring it meets the required capacity, redundancy, and reliability. This includes managing electrical load calculations, power supply schemes, and backup systems like UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and generators to ensure continuous operation. Integration of Electrical Systems with Other Trades: They lead the integration of electrical systems with other building systems, including mechanical, fire safety, and IT infrastructure. This involves coordinating with other engineering disciplines to ensure the systems work seamlessly together, especially for critical infrastructure like data servers, cooling systems, and security systems. Compliance with Electrical Codes and Standards: The Senior Electrical Engineer ensures that all electrical installations meet local, national, and international standards and codes, such as NEC (National Electrical Code), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association). They are also responsible for the necessary inspections and certifications required for the electrical systems. Electrical Equipment Selection and Procurement: They oversee the selection, specification, and procurement of electrical equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and electrical panels. This includes evaluating the equipment for performance, reliability, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety standards, as well as managing the budget for electrical systems. Project Coordination and Site Supervision: The Senior Electrical Engineer manages the installation and commissioning of electrical systems on-site, ensuring that electrical work progresses according to the project schedule. They also supervise electrical contractors, review technical drawings, provide on-site troubleshooting, and ensure quality control to ensure that all electrical systems are installed to meet project specifications and safety standards.

 

Requirements

 

Must have 10+ years experience in relevant roles

Must have DC experience

Must have EU Passport or RTW in Norway

€95,000-€110,000 + Full rotational Package
