If so, our team in Washington, DC is looking for individuals to help support the United States Coast Guard and our Ship Design Group!
As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will:
+ Work within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center.

A week in the life of a Senior Electrical Engineer:
+ Design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels, electric propulsion systems, propulsion and machinery control systems, power generation and distribution systems, interior communications systems, various auxiliary electrical systems, and related equipment.
+ Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to electrical systems and components.
+ Perform design reviews, evaluate constructability, help resolve technical issues, and manage information generated through the design and construction phases of multiple and concurrent projects.
+ Conduct electrical engineering analysis as they relate to vessels.
+ Create graphical representations of the systems.
+ Inspect equipment or systems.
+ Research advanced engineering designs or applications.
+ Monitor processes for compliance with standards.
+ Devise research or testing protocols.
+ Prepare technical reports for internal use.
+ Communicate technical information to suppliers, contractors, or regulatory agencies.
Job Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
+ Ability to obtain a secret clearance
At least 10 years of experience in:
+ One of the following marine fields: electric propulsion systems; machinery control systems; power generation and distribution systems; or interior communications systems

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
