Senior Electrical Lighting Designer City Tampa State FL Country United States Area of Interest Design and Drafting Type Full Time - Regular Job ID 2025-14806 Business Group Energy & Industrial Group Department Electrical and Controls Design Description This position will offer you the opportunity to work and lead others in a project team environment in the design, modification, and/or upgrade of new and existing power plant lighting systems.Under the direction of the Electrical Project Lead, you will work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in the development of the following:Lighting single line diagramsLighting Load SheetsLighting CalculationsLighting CircuitingLighting fixture location drawingsLighting bill of materialsLighting general notes and detail drawingsIn addition, you will also have the opportunity to perform the following:Conduct field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilitiesSupervise and mentor less experienced employeesReview drawings produced by other personnel and vendors, and incorporate them into project drawingsCreate life cycle cost analysisUpdate in house design standards Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

Associates degree10+ years of electrical systems experience dedicated to lighting design development/engineeringExceptional AutoCAD and/or MicroStation design experience on power plants or large facility projectsExtensive experience with the following:Producing various types of lighting deliverables for installers and electriciansAssisting engineers with initial design requirementsConceptualizing plans and details to accurately convey lighting requirementsDeveloping low-voltage circuit designs, including single line diagrams and electrical distribution panel layoutsUsing commercial lighting calculation programs, such as VisualMust keep up with the latest advancements in lighting technology,  lighting controls, energy codes, and electrical systemsMust be detail oriented, flexible, courteous, organized, and have good communication skillsWilling to travel to client facilities to perform walkdowns and attend meetings

Valued but not required experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or non-ABET Accredited Engineering Technology degrees
