The primary purpose of the Sr. Electrician is to take the lead in maintaining primary and secondary electrical systems in the facility. Installs, tests, repairs and replaces lights and power circuitry, electrical and electronic equipment, alarm systems and electric motors, machinery and appliances. Ensures work is done in compliance with local, state and national codes. Directs other mechanics and helpers.
QualificationsCurrent New Jersey Electric license required with at least ten (10) years of experience, at least five (5) years of which shall have involved taking the lead in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems. Thorough knowledge of local, state and national codes. Required to work under OSHA, Occupation and Health Safety Standard, Nominal and High Voltage Standard 29 CFR from Article 1910.303 to 1910.303h. Must have a valid driver’s license. High voltage experience required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires the individual to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and climb or balance up to 2/3 of the time, to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, to talk or heat and to taste or smell less than 1/3 of the time; to lift a weight or exert force from 10 to 25 pounds up to 2/3 of the time, from 50 to over 100 pounds less than 1/3 of the time. Ability to perform physical labor without restrictions, including lifting equipment more than fifty pounds, performing work on rooks, scaffolding and ladders. The position requires close, distance and color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception as well as the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The individual in this position may be exposed to environmental conditions such as wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work neat moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat or cold (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, and vibration up to 2/3 of the time, to risk radiation less than 1/3 of the time. Moderate noise is typical for the work environment of this job.
