Senior Director, Embedded Software

What You Will Be Doing Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, ensuring effective testing of embedded software across our EV charging products. Define and implement comprehensive test strategies for embedded software in EV chargers, including functional, performance, integration, and regression testing. Oversee manual and automated testing efforts for embedded systems in EV chargers, ensuring high-quality product releases. Lead the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks and tools to support efficient and scalable testing processes for embedded systems. Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and validation of embedded software within the charging stations. Provide regular reports to senior management on testing progress, quality metrics, risk assessments, and key issues, ensuring transparency and alignment with product goals. Ensure that software quality meets or exceeds customer expectations and works efficiently under real-world conditions at EV charging sites.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 12+ Years, Experience in hardware QA and/or embedded QA and/or QA automation. 3+ yrs experience in managing QA teams. Experience with continuous integration (CI), version control (e.g., Git), and issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira). Expertise in building, scaling, and managing automated test frameworks for embedded systems using Python. Well versed with Agile Methodology. Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), particularly in embedded environments. Problem-solving mindset and strong analytical skills. Ability to work effectively in a geographically diverse team and communicate technical concepts clearly. Familiarity with EV charging protocols, standards, and related hardware systems is a bonus.
