Senior Embedded Software Engineer (4125)at SMX(View all jobs) (https://www.smxtech.com/careers/) Patuxent River, MD SMX is looking for an Senior Embedded Software Engineer with demonstrated embedded software experience to support the VH92A Acquisition Program Office in oversight of Software Engineering activities. This position will support our client **onsite** at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Patuxent River, MD. Telework flexibility may be considered on a situational/case by case basis. You will join a team of highly driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in supporting program management, technical, or business case analysis across the NAVAIR community. This position will support the engineering and oversight roles for development of the Mission Communications System software for a high-visibility helicopter program. Essential duties and responsibilities: + Provide system software engineering expertise to IPT personnel in the support of VH-92A Program requirements and objectives. Requires ability to communicate with leadership, fleet personnel, and peers. + Provide technical guidance, identify risks and issues, and provide recommendations to IPT members in support of the development of software/hardware products. + Provide guidance, identify risks and issues, and provide software recommendations to Class Desk in support of Interim Flight Clearances. + Interface with the SSA to provide technical guidance and recommendations to develop an increasing in-house sustainment of software and processes. + Interface with the CSS to provide technical guidance and recommendations to assist with Mission Communication System (MCS) software acquisition. + Prepare/Review/Manage technical documentation, proposals, investigations, analyses, needed to support ECPs, Product Test Verifications, and other appropriate documentation. **Required Skills & Experience** + Clearance Required: Top Secret + Secret clearance is allowable to start, but must be able to upgrade to TS within 6 months of hire + BS or BA degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering, or a related field + At least 8 years of software engineering experience, performing software requirements analysis, software design, software coding, software integration and software testing + Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, Ethernet, and Serial communication protocols + Demonstrated knowledge of embedded coding languages + Demonstrated experience in all phases of the software engineering lifecycle + Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems, evaluate trade space opportunities, and develop solutions **Desired Skills & Experience** + 10 years of experience to include 5+ years of experience performing software engineering functions for a DoD aircraft systems, DoD weapons systems, DoD mission systems or DoD support systems is highly desired + Experience with DOD Acquisition policies and procedures demonstrated in a program office environment + Experience with Agile SW Development methodologies + Experience in developing SW Specifications and Requirements **Application Deadline:** 2/10/2025 \#cjpost #LI-ES1 #LI-onsite The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
