DEKA Research & Development is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team working on cutting-edge medical devices. You will have the opportunity to work on every layer of software, from embedded system device drivers and control loops up to cloud connectivity and UI development. You will be part of our cross-disciplinary team, working alongside electrical, mechanical, and biomedical engineers to create a product that will improve outcomes and quality of life for millions of people worldwide.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and verify operation of embedded softwareAnalyze, create, and update requirements and proceduresSolve problems, build products, and make a difference in the worldRequirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or work equivalent, and 5+ years of experienceExperience mentoring junior engineers in best software practicesExperience with Python and C/C++RTOS and embedded systems development (examples include: Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Micro C, embedded Linux)Experience defining software requirementsExperience defining requirements, developing, and documenting the architecture of a large software systemExperience developing and verifying software test procedures to meet software requirementsExperience designing and implementing software/hardware systems for medical devices a plusStrong troubleshooting skillsDemonstrated ability to adapt rapidly to changing circumstances and technologyMust have excellent communication skills and attention to detailMust have a maker type personalityControls Engineering experience beneficial (but not required)
