**Senior Employee Relations Partner** Location **Madison** Job Category **Human Resources** Apply Now (https://phf.tbe.taleo.net/phf01/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=MGE&cws=38&rid=1912) **POSITION PURPOSE** Responsible for maintaining healthy employee/employer relationships by managing conflict resolution, handling workplace grievances ensuring compliance with labor laws, and promoting a positive organizational culture. This role collaborates with management to provide guidance on various employee relations issues, aiming to improve employee satisfaction, engagement, and performance. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + **Employee Relations Management:** Aligns employee relations strategies with the organization's overall goals and business objectives. + **Performance Management:** Advises managers on performance management issues, including setting clear expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback. Partners with managers to discuss performance concerns. + **Compliance Management:** Stays up-to-date on employment law changes and advises management on the potential impact on employee relations practices. Manages all employee cases, including accommodations, investigations, and terminations to follow all employment laws. + **Employee Experience:** Supports the development of programs aimed at improving employee satisfaction, culture, and engagement. Manages feedback from employees through platforms such as surveys, performance conversations, focus groups, etc. + **Communicates Effectively:** Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. For example, listens attentively and takes an interest. Keeps others well-informed and conveys information clearly, concisely, and professionally when speaking or writing. + **Manages Complexity:** Makes sense of complex, high-quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. For example, looks at complex issues from multiple angles, explores issues to uncover underlying issues and root causes, and sees the main consequences and implications of different options. + **Balances Stakeholders:** Anticipates and balances the needs of multiple stakeholders. For example, draws upon insights from varied sources to gain a rich understanding of how to meet the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholders. Probes deeply in order to gain a rich, detailed grasp of the priorities of different stakeholders and takes initiative to respond to stakeholder problems. + **Situational Adaptability:** Adapts approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations. For example, finds out which situations call for flexibility and responds accordingly and seeks and listens to others' input and feedback on how to adapt approach to changing situations. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Education and Experience** + Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, or related field. + 5+ years of experience in human resources or employee relations, with a focus on conflict resolution, performance management, or employee experience preferred. + Knowledge of employment law, workplace regulations, and best practices for handling employee relations issues, including workplace discrimination, harassment, and labor relations, is a plus. **Knowledge and Skills** + Able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels and convey sensitive information in a clear and empathetic manner. + Able to assess situations, identify root causes of problems, and determine fair solutions. + Able to maintain confidentiality while dealing with sensitive information related to employee relations issues. + High level of empathy and interpersonal skills and able to handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism. + Ensure that all employee relations matters are documented thoroughly and accurately. + Able to mediate and resolve conflicts in a way that benefits both employees and the organization. **ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION** _About MGE_ MGE generates and distributes electricity to 163,000 customers in Dane County, Wisconsin, and purchases and distributes natural gas to 176,000 customers in seven south-central and western Wisconsin counties.
