About This Position

ChristianaCare is searching for Senior Employee Relations Specialist to provide effective Human Resources consultation and support to assigned units/departments for change leadership and other key business objectives, with a key focus on maintaining a positive employee relations climate and improving employee engagement. This position handles the most complex issues independently and leads projects, as assigned.

This is a hybrid position with the need to be on site once every other week.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

Independently handles complex cases, providing impartial and consistent guidance.

Serves as a consultant and partner to Human Resource Business Partners, leadership, HR colleagues and others on resolving employee relations issues and creating a positive and inclusive environment.

Provides guidance to maintain labor law compliance and conducts fact finding and partners with counsel to respond to 3rd party claims (EEOC, DOL, civil suits, etc.) Represents Christiana Care at agency hearings.

Collaborates with operational management to achieve ChristianaCare business objectives such as change leadership, retention initiatives and improving caregiver engagement.

Maintains knowledge of broad-based Human Resources policies and practices and new technologies. Proactively tracks key metrics (turnover, engagement, FMLA utilization) to identify trends and opportunities providing recommendations to operational partners and ER Director for improvement.

Creates content and facilitates employee relations education.

Serves as a resource and mentor to the Employee Relations team.

Supports organization in contract negotiations as necessary

Participates in system survey readiness efforts, educating leaders and staff on

HR compliance requirements

Education and experience requirements:

B.S. degree in Human Resources or related field (Master’s degree preferred)

Five years’ experience in Human Resources. PHR/SPHR preferred.
