Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior End User Support Specialist to support the IT program at a major national laboratory.
Responsibilities Provide both classified and unclassified RedHat Linux support to our customer base.Translate technical terms into layperson terms and present them to audiences outside of the organization. Qualifications A.A. in Computer Science and 4 years of experienceIn lieu of a degree, additional relevant experience may be applicable.U.S. Citizenship is required per contract. Must have an Active DOE Q clearance or DOD TS and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q security clearance with SCI. Must be willing to take and pass a polygraph if randomly selected.Experience with Linux system administration, preferably RedHat
Understand enterprise network services like DNS, NTP, DHCP, databases, VPN, firewalls, switches, routers, and distributed storage systems
Experience configuring and troubleshooting networking equipment
Ability to learn new IT system technologies

DoD Top Secret with Reciprocity and an active SCIExperience with scripting languagesExperience with deploying and administering servers in a high security production environmentAbility to work closely with researchers to identify needs/expectations and articulate action items and responsibilitiesAn in-depth knowledge of LinuxHave the ability to thrive in a teaming environmentUnderstanding of Systems Engineering disciplines particularly Requirements Management and Configuration Management An understanding of Cloud Computing such as VMware, Open Stack and KVM/ProxmoxThe ability to research and propose technical solutions which satisfy requirementsAn in-depth knowledge of network devices like switches, routers, VPNs, and firewall devicesExperience with and the ability to utilize collaboration tools like Wikis, Mattermost, Jira & GitLabExperience with process improvement activities and full life cycle development processes such as Agile, Lean 6, ISO, CMMi, or ITILExperience in working with Project management professionals preferably of large, complex, or interdependent projectsAbout Us:
