What You’ll Be Doing
Cadmus seeks a Senior Analyst to join its Energy Sector, serving as an Impact Evaluation Lead. Qualified candidates are expected to conduct primary and secondary research on behalf of Cadmus’ clients (primarily utilities and administrators of energy efficiency programs). The candidate will be responsible for managing and executing research tasks to evaluate the impact of our clients’ energy efficiency and demand side management programs.
This role involves contributing directly to project work tasks and managing junior staff conducting project-specific tasks and research. Responsibilities include activities such as desk reviews of energy efficiency project savings calculations, site visits to verify efficiency measures or install metering equipment, and interviews (participants, stakeholders, program administrators, etc.). Through close collaboration with the process evaluation team, the impact lead will integrate process evaluation findings into public-facing reports for utility regulators. The Impact Evaluation Lead is accountable for ensuring high-quality deliverables, managing project timelines and budgets, and maintaining QA/QC standards, as well as presenting and defending results confidently to clients.

Responsibilities Conduct residential and commercial site visits to verify energy efficiency measures, install metering equipment, and collect relevant data.Analyze diverse datasets (e.g., trend data, energy efficiency program data, utility billing data, survey data) to calculate energy savings, electric demand reduction, and avoided emissions and to assess impacts to client programs, portfolios, customers, and stakeholders.Prepare and present research findings through reports, memos, and presentations for varied audiences, including clients, community stakeholders, and peers.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide technical insights and support project success.Manage all phases of research efforts, from design to reporting, ensuring methodological rigor and quality deliverables created on-time and on-budget.Oversee tasks and small teams of consultants, providing leadership and direction.Support business development through client engagement, industry outreach, budget development support, and written proposal support.Assist with project management activities, ensuring timelines and milestones are met. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, or a related field, with 5–7 years of professional experience.Interest in energy, energy efficiency, renewable energy, the built environment, the utility industry, greenhouse gas emissions, and/or electric vehicles.Strong understanding of applying engineering and statistical methods to analyze data and answer research questions.Exceptional writing, communication, and critical thinking skills.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing deadlines in a fast-paced, deliverable-driven environment.Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.Self-motivated with the initiative to work independently on assignments.Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.Valid driver’s license (vehicle ownership not required).Resident of New Jersey.Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, or a related field.Proficiency in Python, R, and/or SQL.Strong understanding of HVAC, water heating, and other commercial/industrial building systems.Experience with power and energy analysis techniques, including regression models, bin analysis, cross-validation, and parameter tuning/optimization.Familiarity with project management tools and tactics, such as scheduling software and budget tracking.Proven ability to self-train through additional training programs and certifications.Additional Information:

The minimum starting salary for this position is $70,000. The actual salary may be higher and will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
