This position in Sargent & Lundy’s Consulting group will require you to focus on our solar and energy storage projects, such as the following:

Owner’s engineering services for electric utilities and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to support new utility-scale solar and/or battery energy storage projects. Common tasks include:Preparing conceptual electrical designs to support grid interconnection applications Providing technical support during the grid interconnection processProviding technical support for component selection and critical review of key components with exposure to various Industry standardsEvaluating EPC proposals to assist selection of preferred EPC contractorsReviewing EPC submittals including design criteria, major equipment procurement specifications, electrical design drawing packages, supporting calculations, commissioning procedures, key equipment test reports, etc. Independent engineering and technical due diligence services for project financing or asset acquisition of new solar and/or energy storage projects. Common tasks include:
Evaluating and Reviewing Solar PV and Balance of Plant technologiesEvaluating project execution plans from EPC contractorsReviewing project contracts including PPA, EPC, and O&M agreementsReviewing and conducting Energy Yield estimates Reviewing project CAPEX, OPEX, and performance parameters in financial modelsEvaluation of operating solar and/or energy storage assets, including O&M assessmentOther job duties as a Senior Consultant may also include:Preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables such as reports, studies, and calculationsCollaborating with teammates to define project execution plansMonitoring project schedules and budgetsConducting multiple project simultaneously and ensure high standards of deliverables are metInterfacing with clients to understand requests and confirm successful project executionPreparing proposals for new business development opportunitiesTraveling from time to time to visit project locations and client offices. Qualifications

This position will be located in the UAE – local candidates are preferred.

 

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (other engineering disciplines may be considered).

In order to qualify, it is important that you have 7+ years of experience in the solar and/or energy storage industry, including one or more of the following:

5+ years of experience in design of utility-scale solar projects in the MENA RegionExperience in solar project diligence services Regional experience with owner’s engineering activities during solar and/or battery energy storage project execution is a plus.

Also extremely important are:

Excellent verbal/written communication skills.Experience in writing technical reports and proposals.Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others.Project planning and leadership skills.
