Senior Energy Manager

SR. ENERGY MANAGER 
LOCATION: REMOTE USA

 

Responsible for guiding clients through the development and implementation of energy and water management solutions in support of achieving their energy and sustainability goals. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Senior Energy Manager will leverage technical expertise and market segment knowledge to deliver insights that drive sustainable business decisions for multi-site commercial and industrial clients domestically and internationally.    

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership/ Energy Management/ Client Engagement/Project Management/Sales Support

Lead project teams to deliver ENGIE Impact’s energy and water advising services including benchmarking compliance, building performance management and energy management advisory services,  Lead projects from start to finish, responsible for quality, on-time delivery and client engagement to manage project expectations and deliver results Utilize project management skills to ensure internal and external project stakeholders are participating as needed to enable timely execution of projects Develop innovative solutions for client challenges and support the strategic expansion of ENGIE Impact services Provide technical systems and market segment subject matter expertise to support the identification and resolution of complex energy and water management issues Conduct ENERGY STAR® Certification site visits and ASHRAE Level I & II Energy Audits from start to finish Mentor teammates to help enhance their skills and competencies to support Energy & Water Advising services Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions for the business Deepen expertise in specific domains to drive emerging business opportunities Support sales efforts both internally and with external stakeholders. Participate in industry events and training programs, including conferences, webinars, and other professional development opportunities.

The pay range for this role is: $71,400-120,750

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional ENGIE benefits include a 401k plan, paid time off and annual bonus. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Education/ Certifications/ Experience/ Competencies/ Skills/ Abilities/ Other

Education/ Certifications/ Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or associated field required Professional Engineer (PE) preferred Relevant industry certifications preferred (e.g. CEM, CEA , LEED, BEAP) 5+ years of direct experience in energy or sustainability management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job  Demonstrated experience in  the following areas: Building Performance Standards, energy benchmarking, regulatory reporting, energy performance strategies Energy Management: ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, energy management capital project planning and implementation, operational changes, , building systems and controls strategies, building energy modeling Water Conservation: water-efficient technologies and processes, water risk management strategies Proven track record of solving complex business issues and delivering client satisfaction Experience in working with cross functional teams and participating in complex projects and programs Competencies/ Skills/ Abilities Highly organized and able to balance multiple high-priority initiatives at one time Ability to think critically and solve complex problems Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills Ability to lead projects with multiple workstreams and manage client relationships Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a distributed team Ability to thrive in ambiguity and react effectively to dynamic challenges in a fast-paced, high intensity environment and independently prioritize activities to deliver results Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products Ability to utilize time saving tools and resources such as AI, in a responsible and ethical manner Other Passion to drive Engie Impact’s mission and values

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work schedules are determined by business need and manager discretion; full time employment is considered 40 hours per week Health & Safety Working from home Requirements Adequate working surface (can fit two monitors, a keyboard, mouse, and docking station) Adjustable ergonomic chair Proper Lighting Heating, air conditioning and ventilation to create a comfortable environment Appropriate internet and bandwidth to conduct business Applicant may be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby oral communications among fellow employees As a global organization, attending meetings and events during early mornings and evenings may be required. Business travel occurs infrequently but may be required up to 20% - 40% of the time

REQUIRED PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Extended Periods of Sitting: Ability to remain seated for long periods, with regular breaks as needed. Visual Acuity: Ability to view computer screens and read documents for extended periods. Frequent Use of Hands: Ability to use hands for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment. Communication: Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, through various mediums including phone, email, and video conferencing. Mobility: Ability to move within an office and client site environments including climbing ladders and walking on roofs at height, moving within buildings to access files, machinery, and attend meetings. Reaching and Handling: Ability to reach, handle, and manipulate objects and equipment within an office or remote workspace and while on client sites. Occasional Lifting: Ability to lift and move items, such as files, office supplies, and other equipment typically up to 40 pounds. Flexibility: Ability to perform tasks that may require bending, twisting, or standing briefly to access materials or equipment.
