About this opportunity:

Cenovus Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer, Crude Supply to provide LP based performance analysis for short and medium-term planning activities, evaluating the switching value differences across Cenovus’ 3 US Assets (Lima, Superior, Toledo). Based in Columbus, OH, this individual will be responsible for running sensitivity analysis in the LP around key refinery constraints, cost of production of products and intermediates providing technical support for crude supply activities, updating the LP models to the latest crude quality and informing risk-based planning outcomes.

What you’ll do:

Front office position is both an individual and team contributoruse LP models to aid Crude Supply Manager in developing crude order, identifying risk, sensitivity, and crude valuation as conditions change from base plan.Support LP Tool development and needs to improve planning performanceSupport technical needs for Crude Supply, providing engineering resourcingProvide support and coaching for refinery LP users.Provide backfill support for LP users as needed – fully trained on multiple refinery LP models

Who you are:

Legally authorized to work in the USBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or EngineeringStrong ability to analyze complex information & details, and present findings in a clear, concise format - Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skillsFamiliarity to Advanced of Visual Basic (VBA), SQL, R/Python and Power BI a bonusIntermediate to Advanced LP Analysis skills – detailed analysis required for decision understandingPrice/trading, scheduling/operating fundamentals will be an asset - Refinery basic understanding will be an asset – develop with detailed analysisAbility to interface across the organization – refining, planning, trading, schedulingAbility to respond effectively to the needs of diverse situations while maximizing Cenovus Group value.
