Senior Engineer, Fuel
**What you’ll do:** Design and develop Aerospace Fuel System Products in alignment with Aerospace Industry standards. The primary focus would be to drive NPI / NTI product development as per Pre-Launch / PRO-Launch process while holding accountability for technical, schedule and cost performance compliance to project / program plan Drive the design and development of fuel products (centrifugal pumps, jet pumps, fuel valves, actuators, compressors, etc.) to meet customer specific performance, safety, cost and technology requirements Lead complete New product development (NPD), New Technology Introductions (NTI) and sustaining engineering projects life cycle through Eaton PROLaunch / PreLaunch/ACES engineering processes Demonstrate proactive leadership on projects and effectively collaborate and provide requisite support to cross functional teams for smooth project execution Work with Program Managers for creation of the integrated project plans & schedules and ensure execution as per plan. Ensure effective scope change management and risk management and deliver on additional responsibility of managing the project/program financials as appropriate Create product concepts / architectures and evaluate feasibility based on engineering calculations. Perform analysis / tradeoffs based on key customer requirements to downselect best concept Demonstrate expertise in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) basics and execute on relevant engineering calculations/analysis/ simulations for product performance predictions Drive predictable and first time right execution on projects through Dfx methodology implementation - create and leverage DFSS artefacts like PDSC, DFMEA to effecitvely identify and mitigate technical risks to achieve first time right design Lead / support xRL reviews including TRL, MRL and CRLs, ACES phase reviews like PDR, CDR and customer design reviews Create product qualification documentation (ATP, QTP, QSAR, QTR, etc.) along with engineering documentation (DSD, EDES, EMP, RMP, etc.) for fuel products Develop concepts / designs / drawings for product testing equipment such as test rigs, test fixtures and test support equipment. Conduct product test failure investigations and root cause analysis using 8D approach. Execute on design improvements to address failures Support product line tech leads in developing business proposals for new technology introduction or existing product improvements Execute on the Bids and Proposals for fuel products by providing engineering inputs to customer inquiries, creating detailed technical proposals and estimating Engineering NRE Effectively manage customer and stakeholders communications and ensure customer / stakeholder centricity by addressing key concerns / needs and developing customer centric solutions Mentor / Guide team members to develop their technical capabilities and achieve project goals Demonstrate CI mindset by developing standard tools, templates and processes for productivity improvement Demonstrate Innovation Leadership by facilitating brainstorming sessions and developing creative ideas and solutions for improvement of fuel products. **Qualifications:** Required: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering / Aerospace Engineering Desirable: Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering / Aerospace Engineering 7+ years of work experience with Bachelors degree or 5+ years of experience with Masters degree 4+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Design, Development and Validation of Aerospace Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical products **Skills:** Experience in project engineering and design / development of aerospace mechanical and electro-mechanical components Proficiency with CAD modeling software - CREO / CATIA / AutoCAD DFSS GB certified Demonstrated skills in concept development, analytical thinking and problem solving Know-how of analysis tools and capabilities including but not limited to – Minitab, @risk, Ansys, Advance Excel, Matlab-Simulink, MathCAD etc. Good knowledge of Aerospace standards applicable for product development and testing - DO-160, DO-178, AC 25.981, MIL-STD-810, etc Know-how of Aerospace product testing and qualification with proven track record in qualification documentation creation. Knowledge of failure resolution, RCA and other tools of failure investigation and resolution Good understanding of manufacturing processes - AM, machining, casting, etc." "Strong communication skills - written and oratory, organizational savvy and good influencing skills Drive for Results and ability to achieve goals in challenging situations Strong focus on CI and Digitalization to continuously improve and streamline engineering processes Innovation leadership and analysis first mindset Ability to build strong customer relationships and anticipate/deliver customer-centric solutions Ability to lead and manage high performing multi-functional IPTs in aerospace domain Capability of engaging with customers, chief engineers, global project leads and other key stakeholders.
