As a Project Engineer for the Air Turbine Starter (ATS) product line, you will lead technical efforts, drive root cause and corrective actions, and support quality investigations to enhance product performance and customer satisfaction. You’ll manage supplier transitions, track project budgets and schedules, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and continuous improvement. Strong communication, engineering expertise, and problem-solving skills will be key to optimizing project outcomes and profitability.

What You Will Do

Provide Project Engineering leadership and ownership for Air Turbine Starter (ATS) product lineConfidently provide clear, concise communications with peers and Collins leadership.Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to identify causes and mitigation plans for issues affecting program productivity, quality, and customer-satisfactionProvide customer support for Field Failure investigationsResolve Supplier Requests for Information (SRIs) by providing clarifications and processing Change Requests (CRs)Manage piece part supplier transitionsPursue cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project.Support Quality investigations as necessary when piece-part issues affect product deliveries.Verify internal processes are being executed to reduce probability of engineering turn backs.Read and interpret drawings, provide mark ups, and coordinate drawing changes

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

Mechanical Engineering DegreeDemonstrated leadership in a production role supporting aerospace rotating equipment is preferredMechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical hardware is preferredExperience working with cross-functional teams across department and business units is preferred

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
