Senior Engineer, Utilities Technology(006309)
• Act as a technology expert and facilitator to build-up, start-up, operate and optimize the IOU assets at Zhanjiang Verbund Site.
• Provide guidance and technical support to the technology managers of the utility plants and resolve technical issues during engineering, construction, commissioning, start up and operation.
• Optimize the overall consumptions of the energy and utilities either generated within IOU or imported from external parties, to achieve cost saving, efficiency enhancement, emission reduction and reliability improvement.
• Optimize process/technology of UG plants and utility distribution to achieve better performance of HSEQ compliance, profitability, and operability per economic proposals with acceptable risks.
• Support coaching and training of the IOU process/technology engineers to ensure a skilled workforce with good understanding and problem-solving skills in the complex IOU setup of Zhanjiang Verbund Site

Main Tasks
• Take the lead role on Process Safety Management (PSM) related activities
• Coach and mentor the engineers’ team to improve the competence on PSM and engineering evaluation/design
• Lead the joint team to identify the root cause and find out the technical solution for IOU level issues
• Utility distribution and Mass &Heat balance expert
• Initiator of technical proposal on utility generation, distribution and planning
• Process/engineering 1st draft design party for utilities (steam, water, gas, wastewater, electricity, etc.) generation and distribution
• Process Safety Authority for technical proposal and MoC (Management of Change)
• Accountability for operation manual, alarm, control loop, IPF (Instrument protective function) loop, PSV (Pressure Safety Valve) management
• Trainer of process for operation team of both utility generation and grid distribution
• Follow BASF´s overarching principles for EHSQ (Environmental, health, safety and quality) disciplines and processes and comply with legal, regulatory and EHS related requirements.



Bachelor degree of Engineering, chemical engineering and energy engineering are preferable
Professional experience in petrochemical/chemical plants on process or production
Good coach and training skills
Proficient in relevant IT tools (MS office)
Fluent communication in English
Good communication ability among BIG clusters internally and local administration externally
