We boldly go. **Job Summary:** This Senior Engineer – Refrigerant Strategy and System Technologies is responsible for technical leadership of refrigerant strategy, advanced refrigeration system development and associated technologies for Thermo King Transport Refrigeration and Air Conditioning products. **Thrive at work and at home:** + Benefits kick in on DAY ONE for you and your family, including health insurance and holistic wellness programs that include generous incentives – WE DARE TO CARE! + Family building benefits include fertility coverage and adoption/surrogacy assistance. + 401K match up to 6%, plus an additional 2% core contribution = up to 8% company contribution. + Paid time off, including in support of volunteer and parental leave needs. + Educational and training opportunities through company programs along with tuition assistance and student debt support. + Learn more about our benefits here (https://careers.tranetechnologies.com/global/en/benefits) ! **Where is the work:** This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. **What you will do:** + Lead and contribute to projects to develop advanced transport refrigeration systems and component technologies + Collaborate in the modeling of refrigeration systems and components – evaluate system performance for various architectures and refrigerants + Advance modeling capabilities for compressors and systems to improve performance predictions + Act as a subject matter expert in refrigeration systems and refrigerants – advising and participating on system technology and product development programs + Research and apply advanced technologies to drive step-changes in product performance, customer value, and sustainability + Drive the development and test of technologies for compressors, refrigerants, and systems. + Develop strategies and solutions to transition to lower-GWP refrigerants across Thermo King product lines and drive their execution across the business + Formulate approaches that balance system performance, safety, and cost, while navigating the landscape of regulations, codes & standards + Lead the technical assessment, selection, and deployment of low-GWP refrigerants for Thermo King products and their implementation in facilities and dealerships + Interface with external organizations to keep abreast of industry trends, codes and standards, and collaborate in research – acting as ambassador for the company + Effectively connect solutions and technologies to market needs and business strategies + Apply functional safety engineering and systems engineering rigor + Distill complex technical data into meaningful conclusions actionable insights + Prepare complete schedules and presentations/reports for assigned projects + Ability to travel both domestically and abroad. Potential travel up to 10% **What you will bring:** + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering + Desired Experience: Advanced degree in engineering + At least 5 years of experience in engineering + Experience in HVAC/R and refrigerant selection/application + Demonstrated technical leadership + Expertise in refrigeration systems and refrigerants + Knowledge of codes and standards for HVAC/R + Functional safety engineering + Power electronics, controls, and systems engineering are a bonus + Technical acumen in HVAC/R + Problem solving and learning agility + Ability to distill complex technical information and communicate + Verbal and written communication skills + Planning and project management skills + Ability to work with a sense of urgency **Compensation:** Base Pay Range: $ 77,000-$150,000 Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages.
