Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the team, of the based in Miami, FL or Fort Lauderdale office.

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

 

Assist with the development of proposals and RFP responses. Follow up with clients on outcomes and track proposal success ratio. Assist in cost estimating and cost effectiveness. Evaluate wastewater facilities and make suggestions on improving processes. Interact with government agencies regarding compliance with EPA state laws regulations and federal, state law ordinances. Provide technical evaluation and support to assist client service/project managers. Design water/ wastewater/drainage projects and pump stations Prepared specifications for water, wastewater pipeline, and drainage design including Pump stations Assist project manager in development and review of engineering drawings, specifications, O&M manuals and other project deliverables. Maintain a high level of awareness of existing and emerging local government sustainability practices, with an emphasis on climate mitigation and resilience strategies, and strategies that work toward equity and sustainability as co-objectives.  Understanding of stormwater regulations, permitting, and compliance (e.g., NPDES, FEMA, local municipality standards Knowledge of drainage infrastructure design, including stormwater management systems, detention/retention ponds, culverts, and outfall structures Experience in hydraulic analysis of pipes, channels, and open conveyance systems Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software, such as: SWMM (Storm Water Management Model) HEC-RAS (Hydraulic Engineering Center – River Analysis System) HEC-HMS (Hydrologic Modeling System) ICPR (Interconnected Channel and Pond Routing)

 

 What your experience looks like

BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering (MS preferred), a minimum of 10 years of experience. Ability to proactively and effectively communicate with staff. Professional Engineer (PE) license (required) Additional certifications in hydrology, stormwater management, or floodplain management (e.g., Certified Floodplain Manager - CFM) can be beneficial Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external managers and the general public. Excellent technical writing skills in order to develop and write reports, business correspondence, and process and procedure flowcharts and manuals.
