General Position Summary

 

The Senior Engineer is involved with and manages the design of municipal infrastructure, highways, railways, transit systems, airports, harbors, bridges, tunnels, building, water supply and sewage treatment facilities. The position reports to the Chief Engineer. The Senior Engineer must be a team player and have experience in heavy civil construction.

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment and Skanska Safety and HealthManagement ProgramIndependently perform highly complex professional assignments demanding the application of specialized engineering principlesWork with project staff in other disciplines to sort through project issuesAssure that engineering services are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements, cost and quality control and project objectivesRepresent respective projects at project and client meetingsPerform additional assignments per supervisor's directionSign and seal engineering design packages with the knowledge of the Chief Engineer

Strong skills in structural and/or geotechnical engineering for infrastructural projectsDemonstrate creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgmentComputer knowledge and efficiency, including Plaxis, CivilTech, STAAD Pro, Microsoft Word,Excel and AdobeStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multi-taskFunctions effectively as part of a teamDependabilityAbility to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all timesAbility to understand and follow directionsGood time management and organizational skillsAbility to quickly learn and run new software and updated programsPossess innovative ideas

 

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in EngineeringPossess professional Engineering license in the state of regional office7 – 10 years of experience in the design of permanent and or temporary engineering activities in all phases
