Job Title: Senior Engineer
Reports to: Production Manager
Job Purpose
This Job Description is intended as a guide to the type of role the Job Holder is expected to perform. As the nature of our business can vary with changes in customer requirements and operating procedures the following tasks are the key duties of the role, but it is understood that the Job holder will undertake any function in which he/she is adequately trained or competent. If in time, significant changes to the role are experienced, a new Job Description will be issued.
Responsible for carrying out planned maintenance on print and other production machinery, to respond to breakdowns and work requests raised by the production team. To ensure the reliability of machinery to maintain plant production output. To manage the engineer within the team.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Perform planned maintenance on print and other production machinery.Respond to breakdowns and ad-hoc request for work in a timely manner.Record all engineering activities carried out by use of the Electronic Maintenance Management System (C Works).Liaise with the site lead and production managers regarding ordering replacement parts and spares. Maintain an adequate stock control system / process.Liaison with external suppliers to organise / gather service and parts details which are needed to maintain a smooth operation.Make sure problems are diagnosed in a timely manner to keep machine downtime to a minimum. Support with any training needs for the engineer to ensure effective support and coverage of engineering activities at the Greenford siteMaintain the engineering office in line with 5S and GMP standards Actively involve in improvement and proactive projects to promote CI cultureArrange a schedule of maintenance activities to be carried out, including scheduling tasks for the Engineer.Analyse and present engineering KPI to management

QUALIFICATONS:
Should have a recognised technical qualification e.g. City and Guilds, Diploma, BENG etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
Experienced in Mechanical engineering (minimum 5 years’ experience).To hold a recognised technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds).Knowledge of Pneumatics and Hydraulics.Basic knowledge of electrical circuits is preferable.Experience of working in the print industry would be highly advantageous.Good computer knowledge in Microsoft Excell, Power point and other packagesGood problem-solving techniques
