Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the development process, from due diligence and preliminary design through entitlements, permitting, and construction. You will be responsible for major design aspects of projects, such as rough and precise grading plans, hydraulics, hydrology, water, sewer, and storm drain.
ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the development process, from due diligence and preliminary design through entitlements, permitting, and construction.Consider project constraints, perimeter conditions, project goals, agency standards, and engineering best practices in developing project designs.Assist the Project Manager with construction administration, including RFI’s, submittals, and construction changes.Attend kickoff meetings with the Project Manager, coordinate with consultants, attend meetings, and take calls from the field.Train and provide technical assistance to junior staff.Prepare technical reports and perform complex calculations related to hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, stormwater detention, and utility sizing.Perform complex grading design and earthwork calculations.Provide complete deliverables to the Technical Manager or Project Manager, including full QAQC and checking for completeness.Essential SkillsMaintain updated knowledge of applicable software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.Knowledge of engineering principles and standards.Attention to detail to thoroughly double-check work.Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with supervisors and co-workers.Take ownership and pride in the presentation of work.Delegate tasks to junior staff with proper guidance, oversight, mentoring, and positive reinforcement.Experience taking on responsibility for major design aspects of projects, such as rough and precise grading plans, hydraulics, hydrology, water, sewer, and storm drain.Additional Skills & QualificationsB.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline.EIT Certification required; PE preferred.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.Desire to stay on the technical side, focusing on design and execution rather than becoming a Project Manager.Work Environment
We offer a hybrid work schedule: Monday to Thursday (9 hours); Friday is a half-day with an option to opt-in or out. You will be required to be in the office twice a week. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $128000.00/yr.
