Job SummaryThe Engineering function is where we at GKN Aerospace work together to develop new products and maintain current products.
To fulfill this we work closely with research, with the production and with the customer.

We are looking for a skilled Thermodynamic Engineer who is passionate with interest and experience from aerospace industry. To be successful in the role you should have experience in using ANSYS and Python.
n this role, you will solving complex thermodynamic challenges for our aerospace components. You will play a important role in designing our aerospace components and contribute to developing innovative methods and tools.
The idea is that you will grow into a senior role and then grow into an expert within thermodynamics, taken over more and more responsibilities. One day you will be the expert to go to.
• You will be responsible for dimensioning and verifying engine components. This involves using FEM, CFD,
and of course our in-house thermodynamic codes.
While the main focus will be on thermodynamic effects, you will also address strength, fatigue,
and fracture mechanics behavior and could also be aerodynamic aspects. You will use both
commercial tools like ANSYS and our in-house developed software.
• You will be part of ensuring that our certified products remain airworthy. This involves analyzing non-conformances
in production and events from our customer, e.g. a hard-landing with an aircraft.
• You will work in multidisciplinary teams to maintain, design and develop jet engine structures.
This role involves incorporating new technologies and innovative features into our designs.
• You will be responsible for creating and using custom scripts and tools to make our engineering
processes more efficient and effective.
• You will be responsible for documenting technical results thoroughly and presenting your findings
effectively to both internal and external audiences.
• Master's Degree in Applied Mechanics: You hold a Master’s degree in Applied Mechanics or related field.
• ANSYS Expertise: You are proficient with ANSYS software, leveraging it to solve complex engineering problems.
• Python Programming Skills: You regularly use Python to automate processes, analyze data,
and create tailored solutions for engineering challenges.
Candidate profile
You are an engineer with an in-depth understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, and solid mechanics. A natural problem-solver, you thrive when confronted with technical challenges.
Type of employment: Permanent contract
Place of employment and travel requirements: This position is based in Trollhättan, Sweden, as such, the applicant should be able to gain the right to live and work in Sweden. Travel to other locations within Sweden as well as EU is expected.
