The Opportunity
Ulteig has an opportunity to hire a Senior Engineer - Bridge to lead the design of bridge and transportation-related projects for the various states' Department of Transportation offices, ideally within the Rockies, Dakotas, or Texas.
The candidate will develop client relationships and play an active role in business development for the bridge team and the growth of the Civil Department. The Senior Engineer - Bridge will be a seller-doer for the successful initiation, planning, execution, control, and close-out of complex, bridge engineering and structural projects in the Transportation market.
The desired candidate must have exceptional technical and leadership skills, possessing the ability to successfully navigate through and resolve complex and oftentimes multi-faceted technical challenges associated with large bridge and interdisciplinary projects. This position will work closely with the bridge team members and Civil Department leadership while providing mentorship and training to junior staff. Qualified candidates can work from any Ulteig office location, but remote locations will be considered.
What You'll Do
Lead and manage bridge engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to project timelines and budgets. Take ownership of quality, creating ways to improve and develop, update, and manage the project execution plans Develop and maintain strong client relationships with DOTs, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to secure bridge project contracts. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction. Perform as the single point of contact for clients, performing contract negotiations and management. Provide technical guidance, coach, and mentor junior bridge engineers and project teams. Coordinate communication and provide status updates to stakeholders as required. Stay current with industry trends, standards, and best practices in bridge engineering and DOT requirements. Represent Ulteig professionally and courteously to clients, at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote our bridge engineering services
What We Expect from You
Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering or relevant field required, master’s degree preferred Professional Engineering licensure required PMP Certification preferred A combination of 15 + years of DOT design and project management experience preferred with small to large bridge projects Demonstrates excellent leadership, verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate the ability to independently be organized, work on multiple bridge projects, and meet deadlines by setting priorities Demonstrated experience with successful bridge project delivery Excellent communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skills Must be able to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports as required Superior interpersonal and organizational skills Must be willing to travel Pass pre-employment substance abuse screening and background check Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $125,400- $169,600
